The Needles XC Half Marathon is possibly one of the most spectacular and challenging half marathons you’ll take part in. In 2016 it’s on May 29th and on the same day there’s the The Needles Junior Fun Run for ages 4 – 11 years.

The Half Marathon takes in the very best of the West Wight, starting at West Wight Sports and Community Centre and heading out to Yarmouth across fields and along the River Yar to the coast, where it follows a course to Colwell. The route then takes you along the sea wall to Totland and then up to Headon Warren. The final section takes you on to Tennyson Down and back down into Freshwater via Afton Marsh.
